Context
Propaya is a B2B AI-powered lease abstraction start-up. Specializing in high-speed and accurate abstractions, they were the first to introduce an AI chat assistance in lease abstractions. However, as a start-up, they didn’t have a structured layout for billing, purchasing, and trial periods.
How might we integrate and implement a transparent free trial process that clearly indicates usage status?
Context:
Initially, Propaya simply had a sign-up screen that showcased how many abstractions were still left for users. However, after 3 uses, there was no indication present to remind the user to purchase more abstraction credits.
Design Process
Stakeholder Interviews:
5 Stakeholder interviews were held to garner feedback about the current plans and trial process. After in-depth interviews, there were three key points:
Functionality of the application, based on abstractions, needed to be more transparent
Tiers for memberships for various target groups needed to be considered and explicitly stated
The role of the user should play an important role in certain rules and functionalities in terms of purchasing
Strategy & Solution
Product Strategy:
The vision was to create a free trial experience that allows users to build trust with the platform and increase conversion through clearly communicating trial status.
The goals:
Improve user awareness through the sign-in page
Improve user awareness within the lease analysis
Ensure the appropriate user can top off their credits
Establishing a process to monitor trials for future growth
Solution:
Login Page:
Objective: Improving the user awareness of a trial period before entering the platform and its features.
Feature Details: The login page has existed since the platform was created. Rather than focusing on the various components, I wanted to ensure that the user understood that each time they signed up for the platform, there would be a free trial period. Previously, it would simply direct the user to sign up without any sort of information on the trial.
Trial Status:
Objective: The trial status notification will display a message that a user needs to purchase more abstractions to continue using the product. Allowing those at a proper user status to top up for the platform. Moreover, the trial lasts for 14 days; therefore, both messages will clearly state to the user which case it is.
Feature Details: The user will be able to click on the cases however, the information will not be displayed to the action that’s prompted is taken.
